Separation and Divorce

Relationship and family transitions include the challenging circumstances, both emotional and situational, that can arise during separation and divorce. Jennifer works with both individuals, couples and families as they process their thoughts and feelings during this time of change and new beginnings.

Some of the issues addressed are:

  • processing the range of emotions and grief that can occur when a relationship ends

  • supportive counselling for individuals and couples moving through the complexities of separation and divorce

  • strategies to improve communication and reduce conflict

  • experience working with high conflict couples and families

  • issues related to co-parenting and supporting children, adolescents and teens throughout this time of change

  • assistance in the preparation of parenting plans in order to provide clarity and minimize potential conflict in the day-to-day scheduling and social-emotional needs of children

  • solution-focused support to help partners communicate and solve problems that may arise in relation to family, parenting or the practical considerations of transitioning into two homes

  • strengths-based support that views the relationship and family unit with renewed perspective and in a new light 

Fee: $215 for couples, $180 for individuals (60-minute session).

*A reduced rate based on capacity to pay is available. Registered Social Workers are exempt from charging HST.
